- The UCI should listen to the riders, not the wheel maker.
- A bit harsh, he’s only just turned 29 and definitely improved over the last years.
No problem giving others a chance but there were also ways of taking him without stepping on pure sprinters’ toes,
- I think it could be complemented by additional punishments. For example, if you cause a crash that knocks out one or more riders for any period of time, you should firstly be disqualified from the race AND secondly, get an immediate suspension equivalent to the number of days the other(s) are out.
- I don't consider the comparison of the two GOAT of generational talents of who is the best. But they are the GOAT of their respective generation.
- Why would that matter or be of interest, Bobridge knows if he is or isn’t or could have looked for otherworldly answers instead of resorting to surrogate solutions, losing himself into something that might end up worse than your problem. Besides, he was obviously looking for human support and it is telling that the religious these days are getting very picky and calculating about who they really feel like helping.
The guy miscalculated thinking he could expect club and country to be there for him, nothing more selfish than competitive environments, he should also have realised that if he wasn’t cycling for himself but for some greater good like country or greater evil like ego, it was bound to backfire.
- Brother, we already are pawns...
- He is like Leonardo Piepoli light climbing style.
- Maybe because you confound or refuse to analyse the differing definitions of civilised? I have long stopped describing general Western attitudes to life as civilised :-)
- Safety comes first, yes, but let’s not be too small minded. When it comes to choosing between sacrificing some cycling or ensuring we don’t become a pawn or victim in the next war, I’m quite ok with less cycling. For those worried about some cycling too close to Goma, think about updating your countdown to WWIII, there has been a huge rise in possible triggers lately.
- He's about 30, he has a lot of opportunities (5 years) but "only" could win 2 stages and podiums, never the green shirt. Time to give opportunities to younger and talented sprinters. C'est la vie.
